The Motorcycle Show Manchester G-Mex 2007

Lancs JGTRC once again had a stand at the National Motorcycle Show at the G-Mex Centre in Manchester which took place from the Friday to Sunday.

This year the club ran a large 9x7 metre display featuring the National Championship winning machines of Neil Taylor, Rob Bradley and Daniel Greenwood and there were a further twelve machines from Andrew Mellish, Stefan Maunder, Deklan Brown, Josh Birkett, Jack Cornes, Ben Worrall, Kyle Howarth and veteran Doug Brankleys beautiful JAP. Also included was an ice racing machine belonging to Roger Newton.

Following excellent advertising which included one hundred and fifty papers throughout the North West, Cheshire and Yorkshire and eighteen thousand mailshots to local homes from sponsors Loot, over twenty thousand people attended the show with a large percentage visiting the stand. An interested attendee was Bill Webster from Coronation Street who is a keen motorcyclist and follows most forms of the sport.

Additionally Lancs Chairman Graham Lowe was interviewed at length by Radio Manchester on Friday and took the opportunity to promote not only his own club but the sport in general.

The club would like to thank the following for their help and assistance in making the event such a success: Steve Holland, commentator Colin Martin, Philip and May Lowe, Ben, Anthony and James Worrall and everyone else that took part.

Finally we believe that a great deal of thanks is due to Graham Lowe, who, apart from his usual heavy involvement with the project, undertook two seven hundred mile round trips collecting and returning machines for display.
